MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU, PANAMA!
We have a new president! On May 4th we had elections day, and it was my first time voting. At first I really didn't want to vote but my parents made me go, I just knew who I was not supposed to vote for so I just voted for the one that looked less evil ;) And of course he won haha, my first time voting and the one I chose won.
May the force be with you Panama, and please let it be five good years.
I write what I feel like writing :) Besides that, I like to talk about my week, photography, YouTube videos and books. I'm a sophomore and I live in Panama/Tampa. I like to travel and experience new adventures. Twitter and Instagram: @staceaileen

Week #53: FINALLY SUMMER! (04.28.14 - 05.02.14)
Finally Monday! The last Monday of the semester! The last day I'll be in Tampa and the last day of my freshman year! It's been a journey all right, I've done so many things I never would have expected like skydiving, going to the beach, meeting people I can trust, and getting along with my suite mates. I had my last and only two finals and I know I did good on the economics final, I'm not so sure about physics though. It's been the hottest day this year! I was sweating from just walking around campus. I finished packing and cleaned up my room, went to the storage container for a second time and finally stored all my stuff. I stopped by Target to drop some clothes at the Goodwill bin and also to buy some food for dinner because I wasn't craving anything junky so I bought a bag of cut apples, three bananas and a Naked juice :) And now the waiting begins... Until 4 am when the shuttle comes for me, actually 4:15 am. What I'm most excited about Panama besides seeing my friends and family, is to finally be able to go to the grocery store and buy everything I want! Because I have a full size fridge and freezer, a blender, a toaster, everything :D It's so sad that that is what's making me excited.
I had a rough morning, Tuesday morning. Didn't sleep at all because the room was so cold and I had absolutely zero blankets. Sam inspected my room and I didn't get charged for the chipped paint! Or maybe she didn't see it because she was inspecting with a flashlight because Kaitlyn was asleep. I got to the airport, and the guy in the counter that checked me in last time checked me in today too and he recognized me! I had a flatbread pocket for breakfast along with an OJ. I was asked if I wanted to move up to row five because it was available and I said yes because the guy said there was no one sitting in the middle of that row. When I was about to enter the plane the crew members thought I was underage... What's new? And they were treating me like a baby, and asking for my passport, and I was like "I'm 19..." before they could ask anything else. I slept the whole flight and didn't even bother to breakfast. When I got here I had some KFC and did some grocery shopping :) At 6:30 I went on a date night with Rod to our usual, T.G.I. Friday's, and something funny happened. Rod ordered a salad and I ordered some Jack Daniel's ribs, and when the waitress set the food on the table she gave me the salad and Rod the ribs hahaha.
I woke up early on Wednesday, that is at 9 am, and had the green juice I prepared last night for breakfast. I drove to Parque Omar to run, and I hated it. I just hate the amount of hills that trail has... and to worsen it, the blazing sun on my face. I felt pretty tired and ran less than 5k! Next time I'll go run somewhere else, somewhere with no hills. After my run I went to my grandpa's house to visit them since they are flying to Dallas on Friday and I had a nice little chat with Apo until Acun came back, we hung out for like an hour and then I left because I was starving. I had mac and cheese with chicken tenders for lunch, what's new, right? I went to Rod's and we played some video games and ping pong :) Then I came back and finally finished my globalization essay! That means I'm officially over with college for now :) I also got my final grade for physics, and I got a B-!
Happy Labor Day! Isn't it weird that I get to have two labor days a year? Haha, because USA's is on September and PTY's is today. Anyway, I woke up early and went for swim to do some cross training today, I intended to swim for an hour straight but that is actually really hard and unrealistic so I only did half an hour. Jose David came to pick me up for lunch and we went to a place called Mama Rosa, a pizzeria around Condado, and it was really good! I ate a whole pizza by myself, something I'm not really proud of but I had a light dinner to balance it all. After lunch Jose came to my house and we watched Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince :) It's always nice to have a Potter Head as a friend. I was planning on hanging out with Brandon but he has finals to study for, then I got a call from Patty (the Debutants and the grown ups are practicing for the Friendship Festival) to go down to show her and Izabel the video of her Quinceaños so I went down and had to say hi to every uncle and aunt down there. It was nice because I hung out with Austin and Enrique :)
I woke up at 9 am on Friday and went to Ciudad del Saber for a run, I'm not very fond of the many hills at El Parque Omar, so I wanted to try something new. The trail at the park in Ciudad del Saber is pretty neat, the only thing though, is that there's no shade at all. I ran 8k! And I finally made a training plan, I was going to go with no plan at all but with enough research I came to the conclusion that a plan is much needed. For dinner me and my mom went to Ruby Tuesday's and they had the yummiest pretzel burger I've ever tasted, and I'm not a fan of burgers so that's something. When we got out there was like a commotion going on and a part of the mall was closed, we didn't know what was going on and when we were driving home we saw an ambulance; Vivianne then texted in the group that there was a shooting at the mall :O and I was meters away! Ooh and I also bought a Garmin Forerunner 10 watch :3

PATTY'S 15 RECAP
Here are the few photos I took at Patty's Quinceaños (OMG, I just learned how to type ñ! lol). Anyways, I hung out with Brandon the first third, filmed the party the second third, and hung out with Yoyi the last third :) It was a fun party, it had tons of candy, a Photo Booth, themed cupcakes, and weird colored drinks. I really liked my outfit and I did my own make up!

Week #50: Driving in USA and going to Panama! (04.07.14 - 04.12.14)
On Monday I did my usual... Econ class, then physics and then calculus. I received a packet with the shirt I'm gonna use for the Disney 10-Miler! It's a t-shirt made out of bamboo technology Something like that, and it says Mad Hatter on the front (from Alice in Wonderland) and it has the hat in the back with RUN written under it. It looks pretty neat, and it "glows" in the dark, we'll see haha. I also got my Enterprise Car Share card, which means I can now drive! :D I still don't know when will be my first ride but I'm thinking of Monday after I come back from Panama to do some grocery shopping.
On Tuesday I got the chance to sleep until noon because I had no physics lab but I ended up waking at 9:15 am... What bothers me is that I went to bed at around 2:30 am because I was finishing the fourth Harry Potter book and I really wanted the extra sleep, but oh well. This whole morning I've been looking into degree works and internships I could take next year, and I'm getting really depressed because my GPA is going to drop a lot thanks to calculus II and economics :( What if nobody hires me? I don't even see hiring material in me... Well I was finally able to register for Fall classes and I'm so happy because I got the schedule I wanted!!! Minutes before registering I search the calculus III class to see how many seats were left and it said 0, but when I registered I got a seat! I think they opened a couple of seats for the students registering today, either way, this has made me so happy! I also drove for the first time in the states! I was so nervous but the minute I backed out from the parking lot it felt like just any other day driving :) I went to Target to buy a trifold for my leadership presentation because the bookstore didn't have any and the trifold ended up looking good :) I was about to skip running this evening because when I finished my trifold it was already 7:30 pm and the sunset was at around 7:50 but I made up my mind last minute because if I skipped this one I would regret it. And so I went and ran 7.5k :)
On Wednesday I woke up an hour earlier to study for the economics quiz our teacher told us about the day before... I did half of the homework at the dining hall in preparation for the quiz and I think I did good on the quiz. I also got my grade from physics back :( I got a 75... And I had 78 on the two previous exams... If I slip I will end up with a C on that class. I did the physics homework due Monday with Courtney at the library after physics and I skipped calculus yet again. We finished the homework and parted ways, and I came to do my laundry. I also printed out my flight ticket! I'm so excited I'm going back to Panama for the weekend! :)
Finally Thursday! I woke up at 3:45 and my shuttle got here early so I rushed to Holly Dr. and he wasn't there... He was kind of lost and I found him in the parking lot next to the MSC in front of the College of Arts. I got to the airport super early, and got to my gate around an hour or two prior boarding time. I had Popeye's for breakfast at 5 am because I was starving and catch up on some reading (Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix). I got lucky that the seat in the middle of my flight was empty, for a second I thought I had the whole row to myself but after the doors closed a gringo sat on the aisle seat. I think that wasn't his assigned seat thought, because he sat when we were preparing to take off and he knew the guy across the aisle. Damn him, I could have had the whole row to myself. When I landed my mom and grandparents came to pick me up and we went to Sheraton to eat sancocho where we met with my aunt too :) After that I went to me grandma's house to chill until Patty and her friends had dance practice for the choreography. We went to the local where the party is gonna be held and it looked cool. The decorations where halfway through and it looked really nice. It pained me that they used the pictures Patty took with another photographer and I think mine were far more better but oh well. Then my dad came and we three went to dinner at 'Leños y Carbon' which was yummy :) When I came back home I Skyped with Rod until my mom interrupted our call short. I also finished the whole box of the Soccer World Cup album stickers and then went to bed after a very VERY tiring day.
On Friday I woke up after noon and had my usual for lunch! Mac and cheese with chicken strips! I love it. I went to my grandma's house to take Patty and her friends to the venue, and while we were waiting to go there I finished my second box of stickers for my Soccer World Cup sticker album. I only have 100 stickers to go. I saw Carlos, the choreographer, I missed him so much! I also helped with the decorations, specially in the candy house Tia Rosa was making.
On Saturday I woke up at 7:15 am because me and my friends were going to El Parque Omar to run some, of course only Tommy, Andrew and I ran while the others walked. We had breakfast at the Golden Unicorn, some yummy dim sum; but it was kind of awkward... Nobody was talking and it was cut short because Lionel had to leave... Yeah, that wasn't my idea of a fun day with the gang. After dropping Tommy at his house, Rod and I went to get some ice cream and they finally had the strawberry-vanilla combination! It's been years since I have had that. When I came back home and showered my dad took me to see my grandma. We had a good time, we read the chinese newspaper and talk for a while and then I came home. Today's Patty's Quinceanos! So see you next week :)

I also did my make up for the first time, following some Youtube video tutorials, Alex told me it was better off with the light colored lip stick but I actually like the red one. I don't know which one to use for the party, I guess we'll see.

Acun's 80th Birthday Party
Yesterday we celebrated Acun's 80th birthday, although his birthday really is in January we did it because I'm in Panama right now and my dad is here too. A lot of people think it's just because of me but it's also because of my dad. So we planned the birthday to be in Bristol and we did the secret video as a gift (I feel very sad about the video because nobody really liked it and instead of keeping their mouths shut or giving compliments on the positive things like the gesture, they complained...). Apo invited around 70 people and they were all Acun's closest friends, it surprised me that the majority of them came on time, even a little bit earlier, but of course, they are third aged people haha. My job in this party was to take pictures and so I did, I posted some of the photos below. Half of the food was good and the other half I did not like very much, same goes for the deserts. The amount of people asking me about my college life was overwhelming but I guess that's what comes when you study abroad.
I hope my grandpa really liked his party, since he said this was the first real birthday party he's had. The funniest part of the night was when everybody left and he was handed the bill haha. I love my grandpa.

Week #34: Finally in Panama! (12.16.13 - 12.22.13)
On Tuesday I woke up around 11:30 and went to my grandpa's office, he gave me some of his gadgets for my camera since he doesn't use them anymore. I had steamed fish for lunch, I wasn't planning on staying for lunch but the moment I heard we were having fish I put my bags down. I tried to cut it the right way but it was just too hard so I had a little help from my grandma hehe. At 5 pm, Rod came over! And we watched Home Alone. We also just chilled a while after the movie and had a really good time :)On Wednesday Rod came over around 5 pm and he helped me fixing my external hard drive, because it had only permission to read but not to write on it because the hard drive was set in a Windows format. We watched Avatar and I even let him watch his LOL live streams or whatever that was. At 7 pm my mom asked me if I wanted to go to dinner to El Tambor de Oro, due to Patty's graduation and of course I wanted to. Of course that meant that my time with Rod was over :( What I hate about family dinners is... well, is when Yoyi acts up... He gets mad about everything, he yells when we are just having a conversation and it just ruins the evening.
On Thursday Patty, Luis and I kept filming the secret video for Acun's birthday and he never noticed us, he knew we were there but he never wondered why we were there or why did we have Apo's clothing and we Luis was in dress pants. That's what's funny about Acun, he never notices. We finished filming and then Patty, Tia Marilu and I watched the X Factor together. For dinner we all went to Lai Chin so I could be close to my house and did not have to drive by myself late at night, Patty drove with me because I refused to be in the same car driving with Apo by my side. She would have made me nervous and I know she would've corrected me in every single turn I made. I missed eating Chinese food :)
On Friday I woke up around 11 am and watched the X Factor finale! I'm so happy that Alex and Sierra won, they will be so big one day just like One Direction. I spent the whole afternoon watching Avatar and later at night I'll be heading to Patty's to edit the video in Yoyi's computer, wish me luck because it is going to be a long night!

I MISS MOMO :(
I miss Rod :( that's all I wanted to say really. I miss him because he's the only other person who I can be myself with and not feel alone. Not feel alone more than ever since I'm here and I kind of know what alone truly means, it's not that I'm a loner but I just miss having that one person you can just trust and be yourself with.
I miss you Momo :)

My Orientation Experience - University of South Florida
The second day I set my alarm at 6:30 AM and overslept. I woke up at 7:30, I had 30 minutes to get ready, and I did. However, I missed out on breakfast. Each orientation team met at the Castor Lawn and we went ahead to the MSC to do a UCLA survey about college (CIRP) and then we had a couple more lectures. Finally after the lectures and lunch we went ahead to register for class! Engineers had to go to the Engineering II building and gosh, it was a long walk. They told us for the third time how to register for classes, after that we had our individual advisors. I told mine about the transcripts I already had from FSU and she said it was okay to transfer them. Originally they put me in Precalculus because of my SAT score (620, 30 points more and I'd have been placed in Calculus). But thanks to FSU I registered for Calculus. And after registering for classes we were officially released!
I had a lot of fun in orientation, but it was very tiring. Mom told be about other parents' comments about this university:
- They like this university more than their other kid's universities
- This university really treats their students with excellence because they even offer orientation for parents
- This university preoccupies about the student's future compared to others. They offer them a lot of Undergraduate Research, internships, co ops, and what not.
The point is that the comments were really positive and they made me feel great about choosing USF over UF, UCF and PSU. (About PSU, I had a teammate in my orientation group from Pennsylvania and she told me that USF definitely exceeds PSU academically, thumbs up for USF!)
