Week #43: DISNEY ESCAPADE (02.17.14 - 02.23.14)

I had a rough night Sunday night, I woke up when the sky was still dark and when I grid to go go to sleep Kaitlyn started snoring and that happened about three times throughout the night, and to top it off on Monday morning she made the loudest noises when getting ready accompanied by my other roommate's noises. I finished the physics homework all on my own, and I feel so proud. I skipped physics to go to an advisor meeting for the calculus II paper and since I told him I liked roller coasters he assigned me a roller coaster calculus based problem. I had Pollo Tropical for lunch and then headed for a run on the trail. This is week #3 of my "from couch to 5k" and I'm really feeling the difference you know. Every time I run a little further and I'm also using the CharityMiles app to donate for every mile I walk/run, and I donated 7 meals in this run which is 4.5 km. I Penny boarded to calculus class and let me tell you, I'm so fucking proud of myself! I skated the whole time, not only on downhills and didn't fall at all, I also understood today's calculus section which is a plus squared! Today was a good Monday, they are rare, so it's important to write that down.

On Tuesday I had an appointment with my advisor and I asked him about the possibility of a leadership minor to which he said to decided that upon if I felt too packed the next semester since I'm taking a whole bunch of science classes. Today's leadership class was a little boring because the Ethics in Leadership professor came to cover up for Stacy at the middle of the class, it was a bit interesting because we had to move around the room but it felt endless. I went for a run and halfway through I felt a piercing pain in on right, I finished the run but I feel like I could have done ten times better if I wasn't in pain. I also got done all of my physics homework in one sitting which is a miracle, and a blessing because that means I don't have to work on it this weekend. And I'm not ashamed at all that I used Google to finish 80% of this homework haha that stuff was hard!

On Wednesday I had a fun time with Ricardo on Engineering Economics class, we started drawing silly things and making up stories about it, Ricardo kept firing missiles on my stuff :( We also had a competition about who could draw the best Harry Potter stuff XD I'm so ready for Orlando! I just finished packing and I also skipped calculus class because jeez, that class kills me to death. Just bought some headphones that are meant for running and don't fall off your ears because the ones I use keep falling, these are called Yurbuds and it had awesome reviews, I also fell into the monogram trend and bought myself a 20 oz. mason jar with my monogram, I've been looking for mason jars just to put my green smoothie on but the ones I have are kind of small, so this 20 oz. should make a big difference. Since I bought the Harry Potter book series I decided to start reading it, so I began with the Chamber of Secrets.

Finally Thursday! My fun weekend finally begins, I woke up at 9 am and got ready, went to Fresh Foods to eat some breakfast and used my camera lens cup for the first time for this morning's tea. Tio Ricky pulled over exactly where I was waiting for him and we went to Busch Gardens! I finally got to experience how was it like to skip line with Rafa's handicap, yet the park was kind of vacant so we didn't do any lines at all. It was super fun! It was so awkward though when it was lunch time because I don't want him to pay for my food, yet he did. For dinner we went to Red Lobster and I had a Shrimp Linguini Alfredo, we had fun and talked lots over dinner time. At almost midnight we got home and their home was really cozy and simple, I had my own room next to Rafa and I had a TV.

On Friday morning Tia Betty made me biscuits with ham for breakfast, using the biscuits we took out from Red Lobster the night before which were to die for. We went to Hollywood Studios! We went to the Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster, Muppets, Beauty and the Beast, and I finally got to go to the new Toy Story ride which is similar to the Buzz Lightyear one in Magic Kingdom; we rode Toy Story three times! Using Rafa's handicap and it was amazing! I love that attraction! The first two round Tio Ricky beat me 127,000 - 133,000 and 136,000 - 161,600 but the third round I beat him 161,600 - 132,000!! I got overly excited about that haha and we had fun with it. I also had my much needed Frozen Banana covered in Chocolate and we had Turkey Legs for lunch. I got to see Fantasmic which was the main reason I wanted to come here and it was amazing, I obviously knew what was going to happen but every time I'm mesmerized by Mickey's awesomeness. Before coming on this trip I was really nervous with Rafa because I didn't know how to be with him you know, but I got to know him and felt really comfortable with him, he's awesome. He kept saying 'mardigras' haha, Tia Betty said he got that stuck in his head when they went to Universal Studios. For dinner we went to a Chinese buffet, I wasn't surprised by the food but oh well, it was a buffet. As long as it's all-you-can-eat I eat it.

Saturday was my last full day with the Kam's and we went to Animal Kingdom. It as been so long since I have come here and there was not much to see plus it was raining on and off so the day was not as enjoyable. We went to Everest twice and I sat next to Rafa. I was kind of happy my aunt and uncle trusted me to sit next him because we have to remind him to put his head back and to assure he's buckled up. Everest was far off better than I remembered. We also went to Dinosaur, the safari in which we saw plenty of animals! I kid you not when I say the lion was 20 meters from us looking directly at us. We also went to the Nemo Musical and the Bugs show. We left early because of the rain and I accompanied my aunt and uncle to Costco so they could run some errands. I went to mass with them and I was amazed by the church; the seats where soft, we each had a booklet with the year's lectures, and it was all so pretty and big. For dinner we went to IHOP and I had a strawberry and banana pancake which was delicious.

And the last day of my vacation arrived, we woke up extra early so my uncle could drop me off at the Bus Station. I slept most of the ride back to Tampa and then I hopped onto a HART bus to get to USF.  It was a super awesome weekend, and Tio Ricky and Tia Betty are the greatest host. Cheers to my first trip with them. I only wish Richie and Raul could've come.

Week #40: 19th Birthday Yo! (01.27.14 - 02.02.14)

On Monday I had a homemade wrap for lunch with tofu in it, I'm loving these wraps :) I mostly did nothing actually... read some material for the leadership class, did an assessment test for that class to which finds your strengths. Btw. It said that my strengths are futuristic, empathy, relator, arranger, positivity. I agree on all of them except the second one, which surprises me because it landed on second place. I Penny boarded to calculus II and there was this down hill on the way and I decided to go for it, all the way down I just thought *balls of steel Stacy, balls of steel*, and Thank God, I am alive with no new bruises or scratches. I also got two packages in the mail! The first one I was expecting was from Forever 21, I was so excited for my new purse and I love it! The second package was from Target and I was like "wut?" I texted my mom asking if it was hers and she was like "..no", so I opened it. It contained two pairs of jeggins, and then I remember Alex texting me that she saw a girl with leggins and she reminded her of me so I texted her and indeed the package was from her! It was suppose to arrive on my birthday but it got early, she also wrote two short messages which where almost impossible to find haha. I loved those jeggins :)

On Tuesday I had my second physics lab and it was okay, we got everything right. I got a 18/20 in my first lab which makes me really happy, however, I got a 0.5/2 in my pre-lab :( I don't know if the pre-lab sums to the actual lab or if it's a separate grade but when the TA saw my lab score he said that I was alright. I also wore one of the jeggins Alex got me with my Captain America shirt :) Ooh, btw. Happy National Blueberry Pancake Day! Yeah, that's a thing haha; the dining hall had a poster about it and was serving blueberry pancakes so I had one for breakfast. I went to my Fundamentals of Leadership class, and omg, I just LOVE that class. I feel so at ease when talking about experiences or opinions, and I love the activities we do. This class we had a scavenger hunt of strengths. It's just so much fun how you can learn and have fun at the same time, I think this is the first academic class in which I have experienced that. I feel so stressed out because I'm not gonna have time at all this weekend to do school work because I'm gonna be gone all four days and I have so much to do! I went to yoga class and surprise, surprise! Maury (our usual yoga instructor) wasn't there and we got a sub, a Pilates teacher sub, so we did more abs than yoga! And I really needed yoga because I'm so stressed out :(

On Wednesday I had an economics quiz and I missed about three which makes me really sad :( I also had a physics exam and I hope I do go, I think I got the majority right and it's also t-score graded thank God. The weather has been cold, around 10 degrees and it was raining and I got wet. I received a package in the mail, and it was the casetagram cases I ordered for me and my mom! They are not the way I thought it would be, but they're okay.

On Thursday I went to the Florida Aquarium and had dinner in Olive Garden.

On Friday I went to Busch Gardens and had Chinese take out for dinner.

On Saturday I went to the International Plaza to do some shopping and got tons of stuff, also I got some things for Patty's surprise birthday present.

And Sunday was Happy Birthday to me!! I went to the Airheads Trampoline Indoor Arena and bounced like a rabbit :) Afterwards I had dinner in Chili's and ended the day watching the Super Bowl in which the Seattle Seahawks won! Yes!

Week #33: FINALS WEEK! (12.09.13 - 12.15.13)

On Monday I woke up at 11 am to do tons of errands, I mailed my high school transcripts to Penn State, returned my books to the bookstore and stopped by the International Office to get my I-20 signed, unluckily the walk in hours to get the I-20 signed are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. After all my errands I went to the library, I literally just stared out the window and texted with Jose David and my mom. I feel so not confident in today's final (American Studies), but I hope I do well. I had an early dinner, a TropiChop from Pollo Tropical, I have a hate/love feeling for Pollo Tropical because I love their food but I feel so fat afterwards! :( I went an hour and a half earlier to the building of my final and I met this guy that was not really well prepared so I gave him my "packet", it's the second time someone calls my notes a "packet". I also finally met the guy that always sits nets to me in class, so sad that we got the courage to talk the last class. Anyways, I think I did good on the exam. All the stress has drained and I watched Jobs, the movie with Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs.

I was supposed to study all day Tuesday, but I couldn't stay focused for more than 2 minutes, honest! I packed all of my stuff from my small luggage to the big one because I'm gonna do some Christmas shopping on Thursday. Apart from that, I've done nothing at all! Last night was a fun night, it's rare when I feel comfortable talking to my suite mates but last night I had a blast with my roommate and she just laughed away every time I cursed, or when I did my 'what the fuck!' impersonation of Abby XD. I spent the rest of the evening in Pinterest looking at Harry Potter jokes... I offered Patty three options for her birthday gift:
a) Something related to her birthday party (shoes, decoration, etc)
b) Whatever she wants under $60
c) A box full of goodies that I will personally confectionate
I really hope she choses option C hehe, I also asked her if she still wanted the outdoors photo shoot and she does, so that should be fun.

I had a hard time sleeping last night because my mind was overworking, thinking about every single thing. I tried reading, counting sheep, and every single position ever existed. I ended up sleeping a little past 3 AM to wake up at 6:15 AM! I went out at 6:30 to eat breakfast and the dining hall wasn't open until 7 AM! I had to wait in the cold, and yes, it was cold, for half an hour :( Anyway, I think I did good on the exam, I was really mentally prepared to fail. Hours passed and it was finally time for my calculus final, I got there early and hung out with Courtney. The exam was easier than I expected and I was the first to finish, there was only one question I didn't know what to do and the exam had 300 points out of 250 so that's a really good advantage.

All the stress is out and I had such a good night sleep Wednesday night, I woke up Thursday and went to Staples to buy some Christmas gifts. I also stopped by Target to finish buying Christmas presents. When I got back I finished packing, the luggage is 47 lb! That's the heaviest luggage I've ever packed. I'm sure I can lighten it up but I'm too lazy, maybe later. It was later and I decided to unpack what I thought was not needed and found nothing .-. I spent the whole day doing nothing really... The suite got so hot because Ricki left the thermostat in 75 and her door is locked now. I opened my windows and it was so refreshing, I would have left it open but I was scared somebody would have climbed up my window. Outside was around the 12 celsius and it was so chilly and cold :D Btw. I got a 72 on my chemistry final :( I still have an A-, but it makes me sad because I felt the test was kind of easy.

On Friday I woke up at noon and had my last lunch from Fresh Food Co. of the year. Also, Mr. Fleeman uploaded the grade for the calculus final and I got a 260/250! That's an A! My math average went up to the A-! I won't have a B this semester if everything goes well with American Studies. Armando and I went to Fresh Foods for dinner and after he came over and we watched a couple of movies, we had a really good time :)

On Saturday my alarm went off at 5 AM and I got ready for my flight back to Panama! We left at around 6:30 and everything went well, except the part were the passenger next to me was ab overweight woman whi was flooding my area :( it was me between the fat lady and the wall. Right now I'm at the Copa Airlines counter waiting until 2 PM so I can check in to then wait until 5 PM to departure. That's a total of 7 hours in this airport...

Week #31: THANKSGIVING IN DISNEY! (11.25.13 - 12.01.13)

Monday was awesome because it was a pretty chilly day, I went to chemistry as usual and had a group activity. I grouped with Mark and Armando, we were the last group to finish I swear! But we were laughing about it haha. Highlight from chemistry class: Armando told me he missed me over the weekend, not in any romantic way but in like a friends/sisterly way and it made my self-esteem rise. I went to the library before calculus and did some problems for the homework due next week, there were initially 205 problems! Now I'm down to 130 and since half of this week I'll be with my family having fun I have the entire next week booked with all these homework problems.

On Tuesday I went to class as usual and we were dismissed 45 minutes before time so I headed to the library to do some calculus, I got stuck before the last topic because I got one problem wrong so as always: I'm as ready as I'll be. So I spent the rest of the day in Netflix and doing nothing, besides being excited that mom and Patty are coming tomorrow! I already took out all the boxes and bags that we need to load into the car and Kaitlyn already left for home so I have the room for myself tonight.

It's finally Wednesday! And I'm so excited because today's the day mom and Patty are coming! It's already half past 1 and I've done all my homework and gotten ready, I'm still waiting for my mom to call which should be soon. The waiting is killing me! It's been an hour since I last wrote (it's 2:30) and I've cleaned the suite, done my bed, finished packing, fixed the curtains, looked out the window, reviewed for my calculus test, and chilled a while while listening to some music (and yes, I'm still listening to The Beatles). And finally Patty called at 2:35! They are on their way so they'll be here in about two hours :) After my calc test I met with my mom and Patty, finally! And went to Orlando.

On Thursday we woke up at about 6 am and went to Magic Kingdom, we rode every ride we wanted to, we saw the parade and ate a turkey leg! It was really fun, we arrived at Disney at around 8:30 am and left at 8 pm, so we spent almost 12 hours at Magic Kingdom! After Disney we went to the black friday at Best Buy and got a parking right away, we had to wait on a two hour line though, to pay. I bought my Apple TV and a cool case for my iPhone; and my mom bought her Chrome Cast. After Best buy we went to Target and I bought some clothes, then we went to the mall just to see what stores were open and all of them were! So we stayed in the mall. Yet the greatest thing that happened was that I got a free Frozen Chocolate Banana! I was at the ice cream cart in front of Space Mountain and I was about to pay when the lady told me I didn't have to! Thank you lady that works at the ice cream cart in from of Space Mountain :)

We shopped in the mall all the way through Friday morning (3:00 AM), and we went to Old Navy, Forever 21, Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Macy's. Since we shopped in the morning we had all late morning to sleep so we woke up again at 2 pm and went to Downtown since there was nothing else to do. We got some very yummy Hot Cocoas and shopped a little bit, I bought a Stitch fluff animal/pillow :D. We also went to a mini golf, a Hawaiian themed mini golf, and I won! I were going to do another course (there were two courses) but the Indian guy came very mad at us asking for the receipt right away and kicking us out... That's another reason I don't like Middle Easterns.

On Saturday we went to Island of Adventures at around 9:30 am, and we rode Hulk first, then we went to the Cat in the Hat part and took some pictures because Patty's quinceanos is Seuss' themed. We went to Harry Potter, and we ended up finishing the park at around 2 pm, so we decided to go to Universal Studios too. We went to Rock It and all the other rides, except The Mummy because it was close :( We also saw the parade which is a first for me because I've never seen it. I loved that everywhere you saw there were Minions, we also went on the new Transformers' ride which is exactly like Spiderman's...

On Sunday we went to the Outlet Mall and I got brand new luggage from Kipling! I also bought some clothes and we drove back to Tampa. We went to the Christmas Town in Busch Gardens and it was super fun because there were no lines! We rode every roller coaster twice and had a Christmas dinner (Patty and I ate mac and cheese with chicken fingers lol), and Mrs. Clause came to visit and sang with the kids. There was also a "SnowWorld" be Coca Cola and we did tubing and played with "snow" (crushed ice). It was super fun, and after that we went to Publix to buy me some food for the week. And the week finally ended, I'll miss my mom a lot but it's just two more weeks for me to go back home.

Week #28: Thor: The Dark World (11/04/13-11/11/13)

On Monday I woke up at 7:45 am to register for classes for Spring 2014! It's weird that I can register from November 4th when I'm not in the Honors College because the only ones that can register this early for classes are the ones in athletics and Honors College. I think I'm able to register this early because of the number of credits I enrolled with and my current GPA. Chemistry was really a drag, every class makes me realize even more how little I'll use chemistry when I grow up. I had an American Studies test today and I think I did pretty well. I met up with Courtney before calculus to finish our calculus homework and we finished! Well, I finished. Well, actually I did a little bit over 90% but I'm really ok with that. At 7:30 I went to the Engineers Without Borders meeting to talk about the color run and met someone from Honduras, and we bonded a bit, her name's Rina. She noticed I was latino when I rolled my tongue for the R in her name.

On Tuesday we had to hand in our midterm report for project #2 for Foundations of Engineering lab and we didn't know, lucky us our professor is awesome any gave us until this Friday to hand it in. I went to the library to do my chemistry homework and did a great amount without getting distracted or buying Starbucks! Today I had my last class of foundations of engineering! I'll have more relaxing weeks now ahead, after foundations I met up with Ricardo and Victoria to discuss what we were going to do for the chemistry lab and we are totally lost. I began watching Grey's Anatomy in mid September and now am in the 9th season, this is the last season Netflix has and I'm kind of sad :( Grey's Anatomy has been so intense! I definitely love this series.

On Wednesday I had good ol' french toasts for breakfast :D chemistry was boring as usual as well as american studies. At noon I went to a leadership lunchtime, which should be my last if I did my math right and the spokesman told us something that really made me think hard, he told us to work or in this case learn for a challenge not for passion, he says that if you are good in something you should keep doing it because being good will make you wanna love it. He does makes sense and that makes me more secure with my major choice actually. After calculus I met up with Chad and Nick and we did a pretty good job, we decided to do my idea for project #2. For project #2 we have to design either a household tool or a children's toy and my idea was a slinky hanging from the ceiling with your phone stick to it, that way if you wanna text someone in the middle of the night you don't have to reach to your nightstand or find your phone through your sheets.

Thursday, this is the real day I look up to every Monday because these are my easy days. We successfully finished the lab knowing exactly what to do, I feel bad though because I feel Victoria is the one doing all the smart stuff (calculations and graphs), Ricardo is the good one with the Spectrometer's software, and I'm just writing the data down. I feel so useless, then again, I'm bad a chemistry so I've always been useless. After lab Victoria and I stop by the Samsung kiosk that's been on campus the whole week giving cellphones, tablets, gift cards and accessories. I feel like I went for nothing because all I got was a speaker, what I really wanted was the gift cards.

On Friday I had Jamba Juice for lunch, I like having smoothies for lunch but Jamba Juice is so freaking expensive! a $6.90 smoothie are you serious? Might as well buy 3 orders of chicken nuggets at Chick-Fil-A! One of the reasons I wanna got to Panama so bad is to finally try out my brand new bullet blender that's been waiting for me since August. At 2:30 I met up with Courtney and went to the movies at AMC! We saw Thor and it was so fun! We didn't have one single awkward moment, I love her :) The movie was awesome too, it was so unexpected; omg I just love Loki. We got lost a couple of times haha but it was a fun evening :)

Courtney as a Mickey in her car! It's
so cute!

Week #23 (09/30/2013 - 10/06/2013)

On Monday I went to Chemistry and this guy with british accent asks if he can sit next to me, he starts talking to me and I BARELY understand, he name is Sam. We ended up doing the group assignment together with Armando and another guy named Adam. After Calculus me and Courtney had planned going to the "Engineers Without Borders" meeting, since we have to go to two meetings for our Foundations of Engineering Lab class. We had some dinner before going to the meeting and we had a great time, when we got to the building where the meeting was going to take place nobody was there.. we waited like 10 minutes and nobody was there. We gave up and went back home, I said that we stayed for nothing and Courtney said that it wasn't nothing, because she got to have dinner with a friend, how cute? So when I got back I skyped with Rod and the funniest thing happened, his Dad walked into Momo's room in nothing but his underpants XD I just covered my eyes and laughed haha.

I like Tuesdays because I have two really easy classes, and I did absolutely nothing in them. In Foundations of Engineering though I did got a little nervous, because I've been kind of avoiding Ahmad, I know it's the wrong thing to do since he has done nothing wrong but I feel awkward with him. So I was really nervous because we have that class together, I think he came late though because he didn't sit next to me. I did heard his voice a couple of rows behind me and from then I didn't turn me head anymore. I also texted me and I was kind of cold with him, and at the end I stayed a little bit longer so I didn't bumped into him. After that class I went to the CSL Orientation (Certified Student Leadership Program). So for this program I need a coach to kind of mentor me, and I'm very introvert when it comes to new people so I asked Justin Fitzgerald, hi is the coordinator of the Civic Engagement program and he said he was honored :) After that I met with David to start the poster for our Chemistry Lab presentation, Victoria and Ricardo were not there. Ricardo it makes sense because he has to work but why didn't Victoria show up? Well, I worked with David. Strangely he was kind of pleasant today, it may be because he forgot to take his ADHD pill and was all hyper and stuff. I ended up doing most of the work but that's okay, I kind of wanted to be in charge. He also told me the clases for Spring 2014 were just scheduled so at 10:30 I began doing my new schedule, it ended up pretty well, I have no classes on Thursdays and just one class on Tuesdays. I'm just taking four classes next semester (Calculus II, Physics I, Physics Lab I and Economics for Engineers), which is good because next on the summer I'll be taking a couple more in Florence (maybe).

I now love french toast, I don't know if I have never had french toast but I just love having them for breakfast. Every morning if there are no bananas or apples I eat a french toast. Anyway, today was a boring day, the only exciting part was that I donated blood! I saw the bus and went straight into it, they pinched my finger and measured I don't know what. It hurt a little and I felt kind of clumsy and tired afterwards but I was wearing my bandage with pride. They gave me two t-shirts and a $10 gift card from IKEA. I really want to do it again but not in the near future because it really drained me. At night I met with David and Victoria to do the poster, it didn't come out as I wanted but what kind I do? They are not Alex or Ambar or Zhanzhy... I also had to go to a American Studies screening about a very boring movie. These movies of the 50s, today I saw "The Manchrian Candidate". The thing about these movies are that they are related to their background history because at that time the study of the mind was very popular.

On Thursday I delivered my Chemistry lab speech, I was really REALLY nervous and that gave me stomach ache, and it really hurt because I had eggs and milk for breakfast. The milk really had that factor that made me sick, still, I said my speech all right and I didn't forget a thing. After lab I went to the bookstore because they had a flash sale today on all hoodies and sweatpants so I bought myself a sweatshirt and I bought Jose David a hoodie because he had asked for one. I lunched some pasta with meatballs and that worsen my stomach ache to the extend it still hurt when I was sitting down. Despite the pain I had to get on the bus and go to the Metropolitan Ministry to do my first volunteering session. The first half of the ride I felt really really bad, the second half was a little bit better though. When I got there and got assigned my tasks the pain went away. I met really nice people, Juan and Daniel, both from Venezuela. I chop onions and peppers, fixed over a hundred sandwiches, and cleaned the fridge. Yeah, those storage freezers that you an get trap into if you close the door haha. Juan offered me some dinner from the buffet and I enjoyed some nuggets and fries, I also had a juice with a very particular (in the good way) flavor, it was strawberry-kiwi-banana :) The ride back was really tiring, I felt asleep a couple of times. Back here I watched x-factor and chilled for a while, after that I hung out with Peyton, Chelsi and Kaitlyn.

On Friday I had some breakfast, and they have not had french toasts for two days now :( they had bacon though, but it was kind of thick and greasy and yucky! Armando wants me to go to this dancing thing at the MSC tonight haha, if only he knew I'm so not a dancer. On Chemistry I forgot my clicker and I loose a couple of points :( I've been waiting for this weekend for a long time, a weekend where I don't have to wake up early or do anything other than a couple of school related work. After American Studies I went to Armando's because I was having trouble with my chemistry homework and we finished it, I had a good time :) I ended the night watching Grey's Anatomy, X Factor, and finishing up "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" by J.K. Rowling and I give it 4.7 stars.

Week #22 (09/23/2013 - 09/29/2013)

On Monday I went to my classes like usual, and in chemistry Armando asked me if I wanted to go to the beach with him on Sunday! I'm so excited. Also I had my tutoring session with Milan, he was kind of quiet but he did help some, most of my mistakes where stupid algebraic mistakes. I also went to the gym and did some cardio while watching a Netflix series called "The League", it's not a Netflix series but I was watching it from Netflix, I really like Netflix and I think I'm gonna keep it for a long time.

On Tuesday I only had Foundations of Engineering Lab class and my group and I had our bridge presentation, we were the first group up because of Nick's last name and let me tell you, WE SUCKED. All the other groups were amazing, and ours was lacking information. I felt so bad, we could have one more, but I think that individually I did a lot compared to the other two but that doesn't matter anymore. My mom had sent me an Amazon package and it arrived today, at first I thought it was going to be super cheap, like $1, raincoat but it actually was a Columbia raincoat, those with who-cares technology, it was a super awesome gift. I also liked my outfit of that day :)

On Wednesday I had my first Calculus test and I was so nervous, however I finished an hour before it was time. Then I went to the library to do the flowchart for our Chemistry Lab class the next day and after that I had to go to an American Studies screening to watch "Rebel Without a Cause", it was a good movie, considering it was an old one. I always tend to get bored in classic movies but this one was good.

On Thursday after our lab, I went back to the dorm and change to a pretty dress and a necklace I had bought weeks ago. I am not really a jewelry kind of person but I really liked the necklace. I had to dress like that to go to a mandatory career fair. Companies don't even hire freshmen for their internships, so it was kind of a waste of time because I already know where I wanna go (Disney, NASA, Boeing, Lego). After the career fair I hopped on the HART bus to go to the Metropolitan Ministries orientation, and in the way I met a student who was in the same bus as I. I don't know his name but he had latino heritage and told me all about his father and grandfather (weird?). In the Metropolitan Ministries orientation, this guy (Felix), gave us a presentation about the place and what could you do, the place is very beautiful and very modern. I was really impressed with that. Also in the walls they had kid's picture with a description and more than half wanted to be photographers so I'm considering volunteering as a Photography instructor. When I got back I had ramen and Panda express for dinner and finished watching "The League" on Netflix. I also watched Modern Family, Glee and X Factor since Rod fell asleep early in the night.

On Friday I basically did  nothing else than watch Grey's Anatomy :)

I'm Kinda Into Photography #13 - Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo

Today I went again to Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo since my mom bought me a year pass, and I had a new camera so it seemed like a good place to start. I went alone and by myself (sounds sad but that's how I like it when I'm taking photos), I took a HART Bus towards Downtown and it took about an hour to get there, but I didn't had to change buses or anything so it was nice. Also the bus was kind of empty I never had to share seats with a stranger.

So these are some of the pics I took today:

Week #21 (09/16/2013 - 09/22/2013)

On Monday I did my usual, I went to my Chemistry class and sat next to Armando. I'm starting to like him as a friend :) I also got super great news! I was hired by Fashion Voyage (an online fashion magazine) to take photographs here in Tampa. They said they'd pay me $5 per picture. I'm so excited. I already ordered my new camera, a Nikon D7100. Later that day I went to the library to meet up with Armando to do the practice exam for Chemistry and we aced it. Then we went to the food court and had Panda Express. I had my usual, the thumbs down part was that the lady just poured about 5 pieces of beef and thousands of broccoli.

On Tuesday my camera arrived! I ordered it with a two days shipping but it arrived earlier! After foundations for engineers I went straight to the mailroom to pick up my package. This new camera is super light, and I'll be doing a review of it this weekend. I bought a 18-105 mm, and a fisheye lens. The lens is super light and small to have that zoom. In foundations of engineering class and sat next to Ahmad.. things are getting weird, I kind of feel uncomfortable around him. I guess whenever I rush a friendship it always ends up weird and awkward (he also had bad breath). At night I went to the library to finish my lab report for Chemistry and I did! I stayed until around 10 pm. Cool thing about my library: 24 hour Starbucks, now if only I drank coffee haha.

On Wednesday when I came out of my American Studies class it was raining so bad! And again, I left my umbrella at my room. So I got a little bit wet. I stopped by the bookstore to buy a clipboard to put the signing sheet for my photography thing and then I went to my dorm. I went out again to go to my Calculus class, we finally started with applications of derivatives and now derivatives of logarithms and more fun stuff. After that I went to the library to meet up with David and Victoria and David was being an asshole, besides the fact that he brought his girlfriend and was all distracted we was "creyendose la gran vaina" saying "I told you so"s and more asshole stuff. I kept telling him that it was impossible for us to identify more than one compound mixed together and he kept saying that he personally asked the TA, so I had to email the professor in charge to prove him wrong.

That's my new free shirt :)
On Thursday I went to my lab, and hung out with Ricardo outside. I feel better now that I know that I'm not the only one who thinks David's a douche. We did awesomely great in this lab, we narrowed our search to two options with a very strong hint on one of them. After lab I went to a Study on Leadership thing that gives you hours for my Certified Student Leaders Program. I met Sylvia, she's from Indonesia and I liked her. I hope we can do some volunteer work together. Oh yeah, before the study on leadership thing, I was out and about taking pictures for the Fashion Voyage photos, the first one I took was really bad and I got sad, but the second one and the third one came out great! I personally like the third one which said her style is "punk but simple". I sent the pictures to Paul Comstock and now I'm waiting for his reply. So, he replied my email and he says I'm good and that he loved that I got a shot of the outfit accompanied by an apple, he asked me to create a PayPal so he could pay me! At 4 PM I went to a Read to Lead session, which serves as hours for my Certified Leadership Program, and it was fun. I ran into Kyle again, one of the kids in my Study of Leadership meeting and I made a group with him and a girl named Paige, we won a free t-shirt :) At 6:30 I went to the SkyPad at the MSC for a meeting for this YouTube thing I'm doing, we have a good team and I hope this works out.

Friday I woke up to an email confirming the payment I received from Fashion Voyage :) I'm pretty happy. at 10:45 I went to my Chemistry class to do my first exam of the term, it was pretty easy, I think I got 22/25 sans the points form the bonus question. I really hope it doesn't get harder because this test was easy for me because it covered everything I had on my three years in high school, so I really don't know what to expect for the second test. I had a meeting today with my Foundations for Engineering Lab group but it got canceled and Nick volunteered to put together the lab report so now I have the afternoon free, it's being a long time since I've had a very long period of time off. My dad is finally texting me back and replying my emails, I was really worried he had forgotten about me or didn't care at all, but now I'm happy and relieved. At 2 PM I went to my American Studies class and I got another 1/3 on my discussion questions, I was so stupid... There were 4 questions on the online file and I thought there were only 3. So I talked to Viktoria (our TA) and she told me I could email her the 4th questions so I did and now I have two points! At night I finished my math homework and google mapped my route for tomorrow, I'm planning to go to the zoo :)
