First Days with Raw Diet (RAW #2)

So I've been eating at least one raw meal since Friday and it's been going good.

Meals from this week:

Friday:

  • Breakfast: Lucky Charms
  • Lunch: Strawberries with Whip Cream
  • Dinner: Apples, Pears and a Turkey and Cheese Sandwich
Saturday:
  • Lunch: Peperoni Pizza
  • Dinner: Green Juice

Sunday:
  • Lunch: Pizza and Hamburger
  • Dinner: Pineapple and Green Juice

Monday:
  • Breakfast: Eggs and French Toasts
  • Lunch: Carrots with Peanut Butter and Bread
  • Dinner: Green Juice and Nuts

What I like the most of the Raw Diet is the green juice, because they always taste good and it takes away the hunger. I'm going to keep having green juice for dinner, and recently I ordered a mini fridge so I could stock up on more fruits and veggies without disturbing my roommate since I store all my stuff I have in her mini fridge.

Week #26: I LOVE CHEMISTRY LAB (10/21/2013 - 10/27/2013)

On Monday I had my first salad I've had in a long time for lunch and it was surprisingly good. After calculus I went to the MSC with Courtney for dinner, apparently we are in Homecoming week and we got free sandwiches :) There is going to be a ton of stuff to do this week, things I would love to go to (the parade and the carnival) but it's simply not the same without your friends. I ate some Chick-Fil-A for dinner while we did our math homework together. After that we went to the Engineers Without Borders meeting for our essay we have to write for Foundations of Engineers Lab class, and we mostly discussed about a color run they are doing to raise funds. I always have a good time with Courtney :)

On Tuesday I was suppose to go out for a run in the morning but I went back to sleep.. And to top it off I had kind of an unhealthy dinner, I had so many carbs :( At noon I was suppose to skype with Alex but she couldn't because something happened with her dad, my package from Forever 21 came though so that recompensed the skype date. I was so afraid I wouldn't like anything I ordered, surprisingly I loved it all! I ordered another onesie! This one with a zipper and it's so fluffy and cozy, I love it! I also got a new pair of snickers that look so good :) And I also got a blue dress that I love, maybe I'll use it for my grandpa's surprise birthday party in December. After Foundations of Engineering I met up with Ricardo and Victoria to plan out our oral presentation for chemistry lab, David was suppose to come too but apparently he dropped the class. We figured out what to do in about 5 minutes and then went to Subway to laugh and complain about David while having dinner. I really like my chemistry lab group.

On Wednesday I went to a Scholarship Workshop in the morning, which was really useless because I didn't learn anything I didn't know. After that I went to chemistry and had a good time with Armando, then I went for lunch at Champion's Choice and this creepy guy (kind of geeky) automatically puts his book on my table and walks away .-. without asking me if there was someone sitting there, he had a beard in his cheeks o.O Before calculus I met up with Victoria and Ricardo to make our poster for chemistry lab, we didn't really get anything done so after calculus Victoria and I gathered to finish it, we would still be working on it if it weren't for Courtney who saved our lives. She sent me her power point presentation and it helped us a lot! For dinner I had a TropiChop from Pollo Tropical, and I thought that was going to sky rocket my calories for today leaving me with a red mark but it actually didn't.

On Thursday I had my oral presentation for chemistry lab and we did very well, everybody was like "WHAT?! Did David really dropped the class?! *they sounded kind of relieved" hahaha, it has been long since I've had fun a a chemistry lab, and I'm definitely loving this class. Our TA, Justin, is so funny and my two remaining lab mates are beyond awesome. After lab I finished the first half of "Wooden on Leadership" book, which is the book I had to read for my book club meeting for my leadership program. I had stomach ache in the morning but it turned out just to be gas. Oh! Something I must write is that today is freezing! It's supper cold and cloudy, when I go to chemistry lab it's usually cold because the sun hasn't come up yet but today it stayed cold even after lab class, we were at 16 celsius, that's about 64 fahrenheit. The day did got hotter thanks to the sun and right now (2 PM) we are at a comfy 21 celsius. Oh, also in chemistry lab there is this group that has two people from the Middle East, you know, the know it alls and in every presentation they would ask the hardest things making the group look bad; in our turn this guy made a question that we didn't even understand and our TA was like do you even know that? Justin let us off the hook knowing how douche bags these Middle Eastern guys were and bombarded them when it was time for their group, HA! Karma bitches. Weeks ago I applied to this Photographer position in the Housing Office of Campus and Greg Bowers asked for my portfolio and I have an interview scheduled for Monday!

On Friday I had my chemistry test and I don't feel I did very good :( I'm so sad right now. At 4 PM I went to an Advisor Appointment because I had a hold and to release it I needed to attend a mandatory first-year appointment with my advisor, after that I came back and watched non-stop Grey's Anatomy. Also my chemistry grade was posted and I got a 76, which is a B in this class, I'm kind of relieved but I was really hoping for an 80+. Today marks three weeks I've spent without drinking soda! And I'm still counting my calories, I also noticed that my blue pants from Gap that kind of fitted okay now feels a little loose. I don't want to get me hopes up but I'll keep on not drinking soda and counting my calories.

Week #20 (09/09/2013 - 09/15/2013)

So on Monday I was super tired, I didn't even wake up to Kaitlyn's alarm at 7 AM. I went to Chemistry and Armando sat next to me again, I like that people look for me to sit next to me; I like Armando :) After Chemistry I bought some Pollo Tropical and ate in my room while watching my daily vlogs (usual mondays). Then I went to American Studies and at 4 I went to Calculus, thank God I remembered Calculus is at 4 not 3:30 because I have gone twice at 3 thinking it is at 3:30. Later in the night I hear a lot of chatting and when I look all of my suite mates (except Abby) are gathered in the other common room, so I go there and do some social life. I really like them all, they are so funny and cool to hang out with. Kaitlyn was really hyper though, I think it was the coffee she drank. Anyways, she went downstairs to open the door to Chris and we decided to tease her and we all hided in my room. When they turned off the lights and saw my wall full of stars they went like "wowww" hahaha. It was a nice ending to my Monday.

On Tuesday the guy from the Study Abroad finally replies to me and says I have to meet up with the advisor of my major, so I made an appointment with John for Thursday. Before class I went to the bookstore to buy a weekly planner because I feel I'm forgetting so much stuff, but when I got there I realized I left my wallet! This is the second time these past two weeks! So I went to Fresh Food Co. and grab some food to go. I feel bad because they didn't have any healthy stuff, so I had a lot of carbs for lunch. At class, remember I told you I felt like I was forgetting stuff? Well I had a quiz on Foundations for Engineering Lab, luckily it was in group and you actually did not need to have read the chapters. After that class I went and bought my weekly planner and also a USF t-shirt, because I feel I don't have enough. I went to my other class at 3:30 and saw Ahmad, I feel so bad because I have not texted him in a very long time and he told me that he felt sad, either way we worked that out. After class I went to Champion's Choice for dinner (I love that place) and I had mashed potatoes, a meat I don't know from what animal came and a tofu salad. After that I had a group meeting with the guys from my Foundations for Engineering class, Nick and Chad, and we accomplished to do something. Chad and I are lucky that Nick is a Junior because he knows a lot of stuff we still don't. On my way back I decided to stop by the Pod Market to see if they sold any Whoppers but they don't. Last weekend I went to Target and bought everything I needed except my Whoppers, and now I crave them everyday! Vicki message me through Facebook today and she invited me for Thanksgiving at her house, so I guess I'm going to Miami on November :) Before going to bed I had a nice chat with Kaitly about piercings, thanksgiving, and other stuff, this is the Kaitlyn I like; not so hyper and weird but not that much.

On Wednesday I went to my usual classes, however, at noon I went to Lunchtime with Leadership for my Certified Leadership hours and today's topic was about "Leadership after a crisis" since today is 9/11 and it really inspired me you know? Also before the lunchtime there was a Volunteering Fair at the MSC and I got really interested in one called Metropolitan Ministries, I liked that one because it has tons of area in which I can help, including photography! After all my classes I went to dine at Champion's Choice and while I was eating alone Olivia came up to me and asked if she could join. I felt happy because I haven't talked that much with Olivia. We had a great time :) After that I came back and changed into my work out clothes. Today has actually been a very stressful day because I have to read 7 chapters of "The Right Stuff" by Tom Wolfe by tomorrow. So while I was working out I was also reading. I really can notice when I'm interested in what I'm reading because 400 pages' books that I like take me about three days, while this one I read only 10 pages in 25 minutes while jogging. I didn't get a chance to skype with Momo because of that book. Anyway, today was a really busy and productive day.

Thursday was a very stressful day, besides the fact that I have to wake up for my 8 AM class, the class is Chemistry lab! I hate it. I got really stressed out because we have to do a billion things just for that class. Anyway, after the living hell lab we had I went to my advisor so he could approve my course for the Study Abroad next year, he did but I also need the approval of the course's department. So I biked all the way to the other side of campus, it was seriously a long bike ride (about a mile and a half). So I get into the building and get send to the other side of it. I got lost and asked for help and a boy named Evan (looked like a student) helped me go where I was supposed to. I had to go to room 2632 and when I got there it was a sign next to a coffee table.. I was like 'are you kidding me?'. So a guy found me and took me to the secretary, the lady said that the guy I was looking for was not there so I left my number and email. When I got out of the building it was freaking pouring outside, and of course I left my umbrella, AGAIN. I stopped by the mail room to pick up my new Asic running shoes :) When I got to me room I was soaking wet and changed my clothes, then I realized it had stopped raining so I change clothes and went out to the trail to try out my new running shoes. At first they felt good but as the time passed I could feel the impact in my heel.

On Friday I went to my Chemistry class, and practically what we are doing right now is the same I did in my three years of Chemistry in high school, so no pressure. For lunch I had discovered Thursday that Champion's Choice has those sticks that chinese restaurants serve! Those you can buy packaged in Panda Express, I call them "palitos". So now whenever I wanna eat I go to Champion's to eat some "palitos" :P hahaha. I still have tons of homework but I really don't feel in the mood to do them, I did some of it but I still need to write a couple of lab reports, study and do homework. The USF library at the beginning of the semester announce that they would not have the 24/5 schedule they've always had but we protested and from this Sunday it will be 24 hours! So maybe I can hibernate at the library this weekend and finish all I have to finish.
I also installed my cup holder
for my bike :)

Week #19 (09/02/2013 - 09/08/2013)

Happy Labor Day! I really had nothing planned for today. At noon I went to Fresh Food Co. and ate a salad with bits of ham, or as I like to called it: ham with bits of lettuce. After lunch I was browsing through the Recreational Center's site, and I found about the Riverfront Park, which has Stand Up Paddle. I've been wanting to do that for more than a year, and I found a place exclusively for USF students that charges only $5 for a two hour rent. The lake was beautiful :) to get there I had to bike about 2 miles. I really loved doing SUP (stand up paddle) and I hope it becomes kind of like a leisure activity I'd do regularly. The view while in the lake was amazing, I even saw a crocodile! I wish I had brought my phone with me, I though it would get wet. But if you don't fall off or anything you don't get wet. Next time I'll bring my old iPhone in its life proof case and listen to music while paddling while also taking pictures. Back at the dorm I had easy mac for dinner, and Ricki (one of my suite mates) also gave me a homemade brownie. The rest of the night I just chilled in my room. Now I understand when Dorianne used to tell me how lonely she felt, at least she found some panamanian gals to make her company; and now Alex is going to Penn State so there will be more. I feel so lonely... Yesterday Jose and I were skyping and he was like go out and make social life, tell your roommate to go with you and see a movie. But I just can't do it, a lot of people may not understand but THIS IS NOT EASY FOR ME. The only one who understands is Rod, and thanks God he's the one who understands. I do have this thought in my mind that I could make the four years without a good friend, maybe I'm wrong and crazy but I do hope I can get a good friend. I'm just preparing for the worst. I thought I had a good relationship going on with my roommate but it seems that she's having more fun with our suite mates.. So now I'm all alone.

Tuesday started pretty awful, but thankfully ended amazing. I set my alarm at 9 AM to go to the gym, but guess what? I could not get off my bed, so at noon I went to lunch at Champion's Choice. My favorite on-campus place to eat. Ever since I've known the kind of food college offers and the free gym and other stuff to help you be healthy I've proposed myself to lose weight and tone up. Although I'm not going to the gym as much, I'm definitely eating a whole lot healthier. LET'S KEEP IT UP! I also found out in the morning that I had a Chemistry Lab quiz due today! And the material the professor gave us for the quiz was really long. So after my classes I went directly to the library and start reading. I get a text from David, one of the members of our lab group, and he texts me that he's also struggling with it that if I wanna come and help each other out. So I went to his hall, just before going there I stopped by the bookstore to buy my lab supplies since David told me they were going pretty quick. He lives at Kappa, and the interior is pretty much like Lambda. He was really tall, which I did not expect, and pretty Floridian. He did the quiz while I had the content out and vice versa, we both got 10/10. The conversation was pretty awkward, I don't know if it was me but he was all the time stuck to his phone. So when I left, it was pretty awkward. I had dinner at the library before going to David's, I had bought sushi from the MSC and a smoothie from Jamba Juice, I hope that counts as healthy. Back in the dorm since I finished the Chemistry lab quiz, and all the stress was relieved I started doing my Foundations of Engineering homework. Olivia and Kaitlyn were watching Greek while I was doing homework, and at one time Olivia asked Kaitlyn if she wanted some pop corn right in front of me. Like, she gave her a whole bag and totally disregarded me. So I'm all like, in my mind, I like pop corn too :( That's typically how my relationship is with my suite mates. I also forgot to tell you that I got bored of reading "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot, and now I'm reading the 4th book of the "I am Number Four" series! "The Fall of Five" by Pittacus Lore. I know it's a bad timing because right now I'm obsessed with the Percy Jackson series, but I think that's just how us readers feel when they have to wait too long for a sequel. Anyways, I'm on page 295/355 after just beginning on Sunday! It's not has fast as I used to read Percy Jackson but now I'm so much busier, so being on the mid 70% on my third day is amazing progress.

Target gave me a stuffed animal!
On Wednesday I did my usual, I got 20 minutes early to my Chem class so I sat down next to some guy. It was until something happened that I introduced myself and he was like "I already know you", it was David! From my lab group, omg how embarrassing. This is the first class I don't take notes, read chapters ahead or anything; I feel so irresponsible. After Chem I went to the Internship and Part Time Job Fair held at the Student Services area. I took information from Target and Busch Gardens, but I think I can't apply to those jobs because I'm international. So before my Calculus class I applied to a couple of jobs on campus. I'm not searching a job for the salary but for the experience, my resume is completely blank in that area. After Calculus I met with David and Victoria, my lab group, in the library for our project. We have to do a bouncy ball. We ended up having dinner together, well just me and David because Victoria met up with another friends. He was more talkative this time than yesterday thank God. When I came back to my dorm I did some homework and I logged into YouTube, then I discovered Judy and Benji are expecting! AND THEY ARE HAVING TWINS! I'm so happy and excited for them. After that I skyped with Rod :) Just before going to bed I finished the 4th book of the "I Am Number Four" series, I thought this would be the last book, apparently not. So now I'll have to wait for a fifth book :( Anyway, I rate this book 4.2 starts out of 5.

On Thursday I woke up a 6:45 AM because I had my Chem Lab class at 8 AM. I woke up Kaitlyn but I'm not sure if she was really awake because she just went to the bathroom and fell back asleep. I went to Fresh Food Co. and grabbed a banana, since I was walking because I had left my bike at the CMC because of the rain the day before I tried to hurry. I got about 30 minutes early and just sat waiting. I saw David by the door so I stood next to him, then I saw Victoria and the a guy who I later met as Ricardo. I put my lab coat, and googles. I hate the googles, they mess up with my ears. We did the bouncy ball experiment and it was actually cool. At the end of the lab I did one for myself, which I colored blue. After lab I went to retreat my bike at the building where I take Calculus I and went to the Engineering III Building for my meeting with the Academic Advisor. I had to meet with one for one of my Foundations for Engineering assignment, and show him my semester, weekly and graduation plan. His name is John Morgan, and he was REALLY cool (reminder: always schedule with him). He was very impressed with my assignment and checked marked me all down. After the appointment I picked up some food from Pollo Tropical and ate it at my dorm. Then I biked, which I calculated now and it's 3.1 miles, to Riverfront Park to do more Stand Up Paddling. It was really tiring this time around. It may have had something to do with the song and the height of the paddle (which was way too short). I came back EXTREMELY tired and drank a couple of glasses of Sprite, and then fell asleep in my bed. I woke up with Abby and Olivia making noise, and then Kaitlyn came in so my nap time was over. Grace came over to our room and talked with me and Kaitlyn for a while. They saw the photo album I made :) I went to the library around 6:30 to do my Chemistry homework, and had to leave early because my battery was dying. The homework was really long, so I haven't finished it yet. Before coming back to the dorm I bought some Panda Express (the usual). At night I skyped with my grandparents and Cristy, I felt guilty that when I called to their house to ask for the credit card's number, Apo greeted me with a huge amount of happiness and surprise and telling me how much she missed me. So I had to skype with them, because that phone call made me miss them too. About the credit card thing, I biked 3.1 miles to the park and when I got there I realized I had forgot my credit card! So I had no way of paying and my mom can't use hers because it reached it limit.

On Friday I went to my Chemistry class and Armando sat right next to me, if I forgot to tell you I met him on another of my Chemistry classes and he's from Puerto Rico but has lived here for a long time. After that class I went to the Grad Studies office to investigate about Cristy's masters but she was right, there are no Masters in Logistics here; I also went to the Education Abroad office but no one was there so since I was at the MSC I bought Chik-Fil-A for lunch. I also realized this morning that I was accepted into the Florence Spring Break 2014 program! Just one night after I applied! I'm so happy! I was doubtful at first because I would be studying about mental health instead of Michael Angelo and the field trips to mental hospitals (creepy). But there are only two visits to a mental hospital, the rest are art exhibitions and wine field trips. So I accepted. Around 5 I went out again because I had to print some stuff and in my way to the library I bought a parfait at Jamba Juice, I liked it a first but there was too much granola. For dinner I went to Fresh Food company and ate some pork and bread. Back in my dorm I finished my Chemistry homework and tried my best at math.

A pic I took on Thursday of the sunset in front of the memorial of Martin Luther King Jr.
here at USF.

First College Football Game - USF vs. MSU

On Saturday USF played against McNeese State University in the Raymond James Stadium in Downtown Tampa. I went with my suite mates in Olivia's car and we hung out until it was time to enter the stadium. My roommate met up with one of her friends from USF St. Peterson and that left Olivia, Abby and me rooming around. We sat behind the touchdown zone, because that was the area assigned for students. I would have rather preferred the sides but oh well. Olivia's brother came and also Abby's ex-boyfriend. I really felt left out, even more when they came. I'm so socially awkward.. but well that's not what we are talking about. The game started and in our first play we made a TD. The score was 7 to 0 and the bulls were feeling the bull pride. We sang and cheered until MSU made their first touchdown. The touchdowns from MSU were pouring and we lost all our hope when it was 43 to 7. He made one more touchdown raising from 7 to 14 but MSU did too. Leaving the final score 51 to 14. Olivia and Abby left early because they had this Sorority thing early in the morning the first day so I was alone. John came around, Abby's ex, and we started talking and hanging out. John seems like a pretty decent guy. However, he left and I was left alone again. I bought a pretzel with my last 5 dollars. It was a bad choice because it was really salty and I had no more money to buy a drink. I stayed until the end because I needed the bus ride back to campus. I made it back. So so tired. I may probably not go to more games unless I've got someone to accompany me. Either way, I liked cheering up for my team.

Cool pic ;)

Week #16 (08/12/2013 - 08/18/2013) - Last Week in Panama

On Monday I went to my last doctor's appointment before leaving to get my last shot against some disease I don't know its name. There was something going on in Calle 50 on our way to the hospital and police cars where heading towards us. Policemen were wearing gas masks and had body shields, it looks like some professors were protesting in front of a government building. It took us over an hour to get to the hospital but we made it, I got my shot and then we headed back home. On our way home we stopped by Blockbuster so I could rent some movies and store them in my external memory to take to Tampa but I didn't found anything I liked. For dinner we had some pizza. Talking about food, my mouth still hurts and it's very difficult for me to talk or smile. It looks like I have a couple of cuts in the edges of my lips because of the dryness the day of the surgery and that hurts too.

I forgot to mention that over the weekend I finished reading "45 pounds" by K.A. Barson, and it was really hmm bad. I give it 2.5 stars. After that I started reading "This is Where I Leave You" by Jonathan Tropper, this book is kind of the ones with a low start, kind of "It's Kind of a Funny Story". Today, Tuesday, Rod came by and we hung out as always :) He had to leave early though because he had a final project to begin and to finish by tonight, two projects actually.

Wednesday was a really fun day! I went to my grandpa's to use his studio to take pictures with Alex (which you can see HERE), and we had a lot of fun :) This was like our farewell activity for the two of us. Panama's traffic was horrible and I had to pick up Alex, I had to go all the way to the Cinta Costera to end up in Calle 50 to go back to Via Israel to come back to Calle 50 and cross to Via Porras, Panama's traffic is madness itself, it's not just rush hour it's every time, everyday. After the shoot I took Alex home and went back to my grandparent's to dinner with the excuse that there would be a traffic jam, I actually did it because I wanted to spent time with them before leaving. I played Hay Day with Patty and Apo until the pizza arrived and after having dinner Tia Marilu, Patty, and I played some more. Before leaving Acun and Apo gave me a big check as a gift, Acun said that it's to be used for a car when I come back. But I'm thinking in using it to my master's degree. Either way, I'm very thankful :) On my way back home I stopped by "La Mexicanita" (my favorite restaurant in the whole world) to make and order for tomorrow's farewell dinner at my house.

Thursday was my FAREWELL PARTY! A bunch of my friends came by to my house, about 25 of them, and we hung out :) Alex came over early so that she could help me with the shopping and cleaning, so before we started working we ate some lunch: KFC. We went driving because the delivery system is stressful. We both ate a Famous Bowl (my favorite dish at KFC). When we came back Rod was already here, so we ate and then went to Riba Smith to buy some snacks and drinks. We ended buying about 6 bottles of 2L Sodas, two bottles of 2L iced tea and about a gazillion packages of different flavored Oreos. After that on our way home we saw the aftermath of an accident: a police motorcyclist on the ground without a shoe and complaining about his neck next to a Toyota Yaris with the rear part bumped. I've never witness car accidents, and I wish I'll never do. At 5:40 we went out again to pick up the order of Mexican Food from my favorite restaurant, the order was supposed to be ready by 6 and they ended up finishing it at 6:40. I was okay but Alex was kind of steamed haha. We also bumped into Ambar, Tommy and Andrew at the restaurant because they were picking up food at Nora Express (dumpling place). When all of us got home the spilling began. The tres leches cake Rod bought as a surprise, spilled on the back seat of Andrew's car; the pico de gallo spilled on our way from my car to the door and soaked Rod's socks and my arm. We finally went up and Vivianne and Alfonso were already there. We set up the food and then the party started! We talked, played heads up, ate, and laugh. I didn't really got emotional but I will really miss them all. Shey got sick during the party and after she left Rod went to the elevator and saw puke all over.. We believe it was her but she hasn''t said a word about that. Zhanzhy stayed overnight because she had no way to go home. It's so funny how Zhanzhy is like my lost sister, I feel so comfortable with her :)

On Friday Zhanzhy woke me up at 8 AM so say good bye, I asked her to do that because it's going to be the last time I see her until holidays. How cute is that she left a note on my laptop saying that she loved me and that she's going to miss me? :) At 11 AM I went to the dentist, again, to have my stitches taken out. It didn't hurt but it wasn't comfortable either. At 1 in the afternoon I went with Rod to the Causeway, and we drove the whole thing until we decided to eat at Pencas. I was craving clams really bad so I order that as my main dish along with fried yucca, Rod ordered the same, which I think is the first time we've ordered exactly the same thing! After lunch we stopped by Arrocha and bought each one a frame so we could put a picture of us, which I'll be taking with me to college. We were going to stop by Popo's after Arrocha to say my last good bye but my mom didn't let me because of traffic. I really wanted to present Rod and my grandma. I think she would be the only grandparent who would actually and genuinely like Rod. Anyway.. Rod came to my house and we hung out. We did a lot of things for half an afternoon. We played the cups song and did our own song, we watched YouTube videos, played Color Sheep and talked. I didn't get emotional but I almost cracked because I suddenly realized the absence he was going to make in my life for the next four months. After Rod left I bought my MacBook Pro! I'm so excited for that!

Week #15 (08/05/2013 - 08/11/2013)

Monday was a torture day! I had to go to the dentist which I hate, and it was my first check up in a long long time. I had a couple of cavities and they were concerned about my wisdom teeth. It's the first time I've had a cavity D: Since I'm on vacations we decided to do the filling that same day after lunch, it was a little bit painful but they hook me up to anesthesia the whole time. The dentist told me to stop drinking so much soda, which is definitely a motivation to stop doing it because I've been wanting to quit for a long time now. Rod came by to hang out and we mostly cuddled and watched TV. We also ate ice cream :3

Tuesday was a lazy day, I woke up around 9 in the morning and did nothing until 1 PM (nothing = Youtube and Hay Day). I had to go to the dentist again for "maintenance" I don't know what the hell they did in my mouth haha. Anyway, the dentist told me that either I could get my wisdom teeth taken out, all four of them this week or I could wait until December. The thing is that right now I don't have any roots so if by December I have them it would be a little more painful and complicated so I'm going by this week. I really wanted it to be in December because I'm leaving in less than two weeks and I definitely feel a stress. I don't know if I mentioned it before but I finished "The Lost Hero" by Rick Riordan over then weekend (I give it 4 stars, it needed more Percy), and right now I'm reading book #2: "The Son of Neptune" which is basically Percy's side of the story. I also watched the season finale of The Bachelorette, and it's the first Bachelor/Bachelorette I've watch. Desire chose Chris and I was so happy! I was on Chris's team since almost the beginning.

Wednesday started off with good news! Summer Term's grade have finally been uploaded to blackboard!
That gives me a total GPA of 3.72, counting my Spring and Summer Term. My goal is to never go below 3.50 :) For lunch mom bough McDonald's.. which I don't understand because we have food in our fridge! And lately every time I eat McNuggets I get stomachache which is a good thing because that prevents me from eating so much junk food. I finished reading "The Son of Neptune", the second book of the "Heroes of Olympus" series, and now I'm reading book #3: "The Mark of Athena". I also started packing! I couldn't delay more what was evidently coming. I packed things I know I won't be needing for the next 10 days, and I've filled half of a carry on bag, and half of a normal size bag.

Look at those clouds omg, the sky was like this around
5 PM. However, it never rained.
On Thursday I did Rod a favor and went to one of his final assignments, a conference, to take pictures. It wasn't boring at all, three adults gave a speech about their outcomes from being from USMA and working in the real world with an Industrial Engineering title. I took some great shots (you can see the photos here), but it was a little awkward because Rod introduced me to a couple of his friends and not to everybody. I dressed very professional with a white shirt, black pants and well.. converse haha. After the conference Rod and I went for dinner to Burger King, we would have gone to a nicer place but neither of us had money on that time.

Friday was definitely the worst dentist visit ever! I got my wisdom teeth taken out, it didn't hurt at all at the dentist but at home I got the most severe pain I've had in my mouth. I kept bleeding when I got home and was worried it was an hemorrhage  but the bleeding stopped after a nap. Okay.. I retract what I said, I'm still bleeding but not a big deal. It's 6 PM and my cheeks hurt like never before. I ended the night having some chicken soup for dinner, and also I got better handling my pain.

Family Sunday (6/30/2013)

Today mom and I went for lunch with my grandma and great grandmother to Multiplaza Mall. They ate at Crepes and Waffles while I ate chicken tenders from Carl's Jr. I know what you are thinking.. "How lame, you could have eaten a sophisticated crepe but chose mediocre chicken tenders". The thing is: I've always been like that. Choosing crappy food over luxurious one. After lunch we went and bought Cristy's birthday cake at Dairy Queen (Oreo Blizzard), then we stopped by the tech store to pick up dad's new tablet (which is totally a surprise) and finished our outing going to the super market.

When we got back home mom went to charge the new tablet while I read my new book: "Beautiful Disaster" by Jamie McGuire which is turning out pretty good. Right now I'm about 50% of the book through and don't know how is it going to develop because there has been so much drama in this half of the book. Also the girl is finally with the guy who she's supposed to be, at the middle of the book. I have no idea what's coming ahead.

At 6:30 we went to a Chinese Restaurant in celebration of Cristy's 23! The menu was kind of put together by her, so there was a lot of green stuff. Everybody showed up at the dinner, including my dad, Luis and David (Cristy's boyfriend). We had a nice time and specially enjoyed the birthday cake, yummy!

When we came back home we gave dad our present! He was so so so excited! I though he was going to be mad because we spend so much money on him, but he was actually thrilled to have a new toy. We spent about hour and a half installing his games, e-mail, and else. He was smiling the whole time, so happy we got him that; specially now that he is working on the mines and has nothing to do and no way of contacting with us. I miss him so much :( But I'm happy we got to put a smile on his face tonight.

I'll miss my pop so much when I departure for college, and my mom too. Poor mom, she'll be alone at home, and dad alone at work, while I'll be alone at college. Either way we'll make it through.

I loved this day, primarily because of dad's face when he got his present. Life's not about presents and objects, it's about the joy that comes out of them, or out of anything. Material things are not bad ways of happiness, but is another source capable of giving us joy.

Week #9 (06/24/2013 - 06/30/2013)

On Monday I had to wake up early to go to the US Consulate to issue my student visa (F1). I spent about an hour and 45 minutes in there. It was torture because they don't let you enter with electronic devices and stuff, and you just had to sit there and wait and wait and wait. I did some of my homework in the meantime but not too much. After the errands I finally came back home and guess what? The electricity fell down! It was raining heavily and even a tree fell down in my street on top of a couple of cars. I stayed without electricity for about 4 hours! When it came back I thought it was all good, but I still had no internet. So I put on a movie to distract me from the madness, The Incredible Hulk. I don't know if it was the first on or the second one, but at the end there was a scene with Tony Stark in it! I love Tony Stark. Then the internet got back again and I continued watching “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”, which I was interrupted when the electricity first fell. And after ten minutes watching it the internet falls again! Un-fucking-believable! I'm going nuts with no internet. I can't believe we have fallen in such a need of electricity. It’s 9:45 PM and I’ve been going in and out my room and where the modem is, resetting and turning on and off. NOTHING. I’ll have to wait until morning and watch my series at FSU.

Tuesday did not start with a morning from hell, but I still didn’t have internet! Precalculus was tremendously boring, and started a little bit confusing. The professor started talking about cones and we ended up doing parabolas? There must be a connection but I am not seeing it. At noon I went upstairs to connect to Wi-Fi and finish my Kardashian’s episode from Sunday, but had trouble connecting to the internet! Gosh! I’m stressing out so much! I can’t live without internet. So frustrating! After about fifteen minutes trying and trying I got it to work, and finally saw the whole episode. When classes finished I gave Kevin a ride home and we stopped by Lung Fung. He bought me some snacks, but I don’t like Chinese sweet bread, so I gave it to my mom. When I got home I still had no internet! So I made myself a smoothie, since I had nothing else to do.

Also because I have banned soft drinks from my house following Rod’s lead. I made a blueberry-strawberry-banana smoothie. The first time I did on was ok, but this one was really yummy! I blended half a cup of frozen blueberries, half a cup of frozen strawberries, one whole banana (next time I’ll use half a banana), one cup of milk and three spoons of white sugar. The trick I made this time was that I added no ice. Last time I added two handfuls of ice and the smoothie was kind of bleh, but this time without the ice it was really smooth and a little cold due to the frozen berries. Gosh! It’s good enough that I have no internet, but the internet keeps teasing me appearing for 1 minute and disappearing the next hour! Finally got hold of Cable Onda (my internet, cable and phone supplier), and guess through where? Twitter! Mom has been calling all the afternoon and with a simply Tweet I got hold of them. Such a bad service. Changing subject, outfit for the night: Gap Jacket, K and K Jeans, Toms, and my Michael Kors purse. I went to Albrook Mall to watch “Man of Steel” with Rod. I rumble through three outfits to end up with a super casual wear. My
thoughts on the movie: cool but not so cool. It was a little bit boring and lacked some story and action. The actor himself, Henry Cavill, was not that hot either. I came back home around 10 PM and the car ride was a little awkward because Rod's mom waited for us 20 minutes outside of the mall because she had not cellphone with her, so Rod and her had an awkward silent dispute. Finally home and still no internet. Guess I'll have to wait until the Cable Guy arrives :(

I've been on PJs all day! Woohoo!
Wednesday! The internet is back! I survived two whole days without internet and cable. I woke up, played Hay Day, ate fried chicken for lunch and for dessert another smoothie! I feel so healthy drinking a home made smoothie with real fruit and milk. One big milestone accomplished today: something to do with a law permitting same sex marriages in I belief California! I'm so happy for all gay people over there having the chance of marrying the one they love. I also finished the book "Falling Into You" by Jasinda Wilder Tuesday night I think or was it Monday night? Anyways, I give it 3.5 stars because the sex parts where just too long and descriptive, I mean, just tell me they had sex and maybe a little detail but that's it. Don't describe it like I wanna know to try it out on my own... Mondays and Wednesdays are the days my maid comes to my house to clean up, and first thing I noticed when I came back to my room? The toilet paper was not the way it's supposed to be. The maid replaced the old toilet paper with a new one and put it the wrong way. And there's no MMA this week because MAFA is moving its facilities to another establishment in Plaza Mirage. Man, I'm so tired of doing homework. Shouldn't college be like homework is optional and it will show results in tests and papers? So so sick of doing so much homework, specially about English. Thank God I'm not going to be a journalist or something like that, I would kill myself with homework about reading comprehension and stuff. And I still haven't figure out what to buy my mom for her birthday, which is tomorrow. She's turning 53! And then on Friday is my Aunt Marilu's birthday, and on Tuesday of next week is Cristy's birthday! Week full of birthdays.

Another Thursday, 8 more days of classes to go until the Summer Term ends! We are more than half way the term! I got a 84 in precalculus, not bad but not  what I really expected. At English the professor let us way before it was time to go and also told us that by next week if we turn in the last two homeworks and last two essays we can dismissed ourselves from the course! That means I can finish with my English course like 3 or 2 weeks before it's time! I love that professor, although I dislike the subject. I felt pretty productive at lunch time. I went up stairs, bought to mini pizzas and did my English and precalculus homework! Since I finished early I went to Dorianne's to hang out for a while before trigonometry. At trigonometry I payed no attention at all and did some problems from the book instead. The book is so much better than this professor. Before coming back home I stopped by Arrocha and bough something for my mom for her birthday. I bought her one of those make up bags and filled it with dark chocolate, I also printed the pictures I'll be taking to college at Tampa, and bough a little make up bag for myself too. For dinner I had fried chicken again /: and a half portion of my nutritious fruity smoothie because I was running low in milk, in fact I finished the carton. Late at night I watched some videos from Science ASAP from YouTube, one about weight loss; and it mentioned that it helps if you count your calories, so that's what I'm going to do from now on. Thursday's total number of calories consumed was: 1386. Based on a calorie calculator I found on the internet I should eat about 1900 calories per day.

Friday is usually my lay back day, but this Friday I went and did a favor to my grandpa. Some important people from Chung Zhang (Canton, China) came to visit Panama, and since my grandpa is the President of the Chung Zhang association here in Panama he had to be there, so he asked me to help him and tale pictures. We arrived 1 and a half hour early at the airport and waited (in the meantime I did my first Instagram video which is down below), my grandpa had this whole arrival thing schedule and prepared with banners, flowers and thought about every shot I must take. Of course it didn't go the way my grandpa wanted. He was pissed at first but then he recovered. After that we went to Golden Unicorn to have a little bite to eat since it was 3 in the afternoon, oh God I feel so bad eating so much food. After that we came back to my grandparent's and I ran into my little cousin Patty, and we spent the rest of the evening talking, watching Youtube videos and I tried to help her with her homework. For dinner we went to Lung Fung and my mom brought me some clothes to change into since it was kind of a formal-casual dinner. I wore a floral dress with leather booties from Forever 21. I am so disgusted of Chinese food, I ate it for Father's day, for my aunt and mom's birthday, for this dinner, and I'll eat it again on Sunday for Cristy's birthday. This dinner was really fun, I talked a lot with Rafa's (Rafael Martinez) grandpa and also with my dad. I told my dad about the scholarship granting me with in-state tuition, and he was blown away! Like Rod said, there's nothing that can make a dad happier than telling him something is going to be cheaper than it's original price. When I came home, finally, I went straight to bed falling asleep while watching E News.
